International Day of Happiness #SpreadHappiness
International Day of Happiness
On 20th
March 2019, the world celebrates the International Day of Happiness for the 6th
time. Many of us probably have never heard about this day, so let me explain
about it. The International Day of Happiness was established back in 2013 and
found by United Nations special advisor Jayme Illien. Since then, 193 UN Member
states, 2 observer states and 11 territories celebrated this day each year.
Of course, the reason
that the day was established is to spread happiness across the world. It was
promoted by United Nation each year by collaborating with politicians,
musicians and other famous people. In 2014, the song “Happy” by Pharrell
Williams was released to celebrate this day.
Some people may think,
that the day is the only day we could be happy. Or maybe thoughts like “we must
be happy because today happiness is celebrated”. In reality, some people have bad
days and of course some people might have those thoughts randomly.
This event is just a
reminder for people out there who has forgotten that happiness still exists
within us. Sometimes, it’s okay to be melancholic or to have a bad day once in
a while, even when happiness is celebrated. This event is also a reminder for
everyone to spread positivity and happiness to everyone around you and
especially to the person you sometimes forgot, yourself.
