RECAP: COOKING CLASS
On 10th December 2019, OSIS Bid 6 held a workshop for SMAK 5 Students. On that day, one of the workshops available was Cooking Class. To support OSIS Bid 6’s program, OSIS Bid 10 participated on that event.
Cooking Class started at about 8 in the morning. The Cooking Class was taught by San Merio, which is a famous cooking course in Kelapa Gading. We were taught to bake brownies and decorate them. Even though we didn’t understand how to bake and cook, there are a few coaches who helped us to bake step by step. The ingredients were also provided by San Merio, so we didn’t have to bring anything, just ourselves. Aprons were also provided by the Coach so it’s safer for us to cook and bake. Safety First!
Then, after the brownies are baked from the oven, we cut the brownies into smaller pieces and decorate them. We used a cream cheese buttercream and chocolate buttercream. Last but not least, to beautify the brownies, we put some sprinkles and marshmallows on top.
It was such an amazing experience for us, it taught us new things so that we can make our own brownies in the future. The coaches were also very patient in teaching and guiding us even though some of us did a few mistakes. They taught us how to improvise when we did a wrong step. The workshop is very essential for students like us so that we could make our own money at home. We could try to make brownies at home and sell it through social media or our friends.
