The Importance of Caring for The Environment

Earth is a wonderful place for us to live. Beautiful sights, lots of natural resources, plenty of food and shelter. Despite of many things that mother nature has to offer, humans are still destroying the environment. Deforestations, pollutions, overexploitation of resources, irresponsible waste disposal, and many more. As these irresponsible human action takes place, the delicate balance that is necessary to sustain life on this planet are ruined. Therefore, caring for the environment is becoming a priority for us for a number of reasons.
Firstly, caring for the environment is for our own good. We can improve the air quality that we breathe by reducing fossil fuel usage and converting into using renewable energy resources such as, wind power and biomass. This will also improve our health because polluted air and water will intoxicate the body. Going green also can be done by reducing water usage. Although there’s plenty of it, only 0.3% is usable for humans. Other than saving water, we should also save electricity. Most power plants run on fossil fuel, primarily coal which is polluting the air.  By doing this water and electricity bills will also be reduced.
Secondly, we should save the earth for our future generations. We shouldn’t exploit natural resources, especially non-renewable ones so, future generations can use them also. But the most devastating exploitation is deforestation. Many experts fear trees will be gone in the future. If the environment is destroyed, how can they live their lives easily? They probably can’t see beautiful sights, wonderful animals, or maybe natural resources will be depleting in years to come. By taking actions to take care of the environment now, future generations will be motivated by our actions. They might make our actions as examples for them to sustain the environment.
Thirdly, the environment is really important for other living things, especially endangered animals. Habitat loss is a major problem for wildlife. For the most part it is caused by humans. We can reduce paper usage to reduce the effects of global warming and deforestations. fossil fuel usage is making the world warmer and polluted. Besides that, crude oil transport by ships can spill into the ocean. This will cover a wide area of sea and killing the animals near it. Another thing humans unintentionally do is littering. This creates waste disposal problems on land as well as in the sea. In the long term, landfills leak chemicals and pollute the soil and water. In the ocean, plastic is creating garbage patch. Many marine organisms are harmed by the chemicals these plastic produce and some are tangled or mistaken trash as food.

In conclusion, the environment is very important in many aspects and people should concern more about environmental issues. These issues are creating lots of problems for us, the wildlife, and the future generations. People, companies, and governments must take actions now to take care of the environment. We can contribute in taking care of the environment by doing a few things such as, using eco-friendly materials, recycling plastic/cardboard, using reusable items to minimize waste, and reduce water and electricity usage.
