The Importance of Breakfast
First of all, why breakfast in the morning is important? As nutritionist Adelle Davis famously put it back in the 1960s “Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, and Dine like a Pauper.” A lot of people, especially young people, go through without having a breakfast. Females and young adults are among the populations most prone to skipping breakfast. Breakfast consumption improves alertness and mood, word recall, memory, and lessens anxiety and irritability, so breakfast is the important meal of the day.
Firstly, Breakfast helps to go through most activities during the day. With breakfast, we are ready to increase brain concentration and performance throughout the day. If we often skip breakfast, it will have an impact on the deteriorating health condition of the body. Even over time it can interfere with health such as gastritis or stomach acid pain. Breakfast prevents us from excessive hunger. If you don’t eat breakfast, the hunger that is delayed at lunch becomes more and consumes lots of snacks. From this snack can causes obesity.
Secondly, Breakfast helps us to avoid from illness. A healthy and nutritious breakfast menu must contain lots of vitamins. This vitamin can make your body overcome the problem of anemia. This is also the reason why anemic sufferers must consume fruits when starting breakfast. Diabetics mustn’t neglect and skip breakfast. This is due to the benefits of breakfast can reduce blood sugar levels. A good breakfast menu for diabetics is high in fiber such as whole wheat, oats, and whole wheat bread. Have a breakfast menu which is also rich in dietary fiber content. The content of dietary fiber will launch bowel movements so that it can prevent and overcome the difficulty in defecating.
Thirdly, Breakfast provides energy needs. The body needs enough energy to carry out activities in the morning and that energy can be obtained from breakfast. Breakfast provides a significant proportion of total nutritional intake throughout the day and offers the opportunity to consume foods that are many of nutrients such as iron, fiber and vitamins. Eating healthy food when you wake up can give an increase in body metabolism, if you are on a diet program, the desired thing is to increase the body’s metabolism to burn fat.
All in all, we should not skip breakfast in the morning because skipping breakfast is thought to be associated to a number of negative effects, including disorder due to insufficient energy supply in the morning.
