Otherworldly Places On Earth
Holidays, especially summers, are usually spent as a getaway from our daily routine. That’s why some people choose to travel somewhere surreal as an attempt to forget about everyday life and enjoy the moment that they have. If you’re bored of the usual holiday spots, this list is perfect for you!
Here are some unique places that will make you feel like you’re in another world :
- Petite France
Petite France is a French cultural village located in Korea. It became popular after being featured in some Korean dramas including “Secret Garden” and “My Love from The Star”. Home to the cotton candy-colored French-style buildings, this village is the perfect spot to take pictures with friends or family. In addition to their adorable architecture and beautiful views, they also offer performances such as a circus. To top it all, you can also buy antique items in their little shops around the village.
- The Glowing Beach
Located in the Maldives, this bioluminescentbeach is a spectacular sight that could be seen from mid-summer through winter. As the world’s warmest ocean, the Maldives is one of the few places where this phenomenon could be found. This is because bioluminescent organisms live in warm coastal waters. The ‘glow’ itself is caused by the light which phytoplankton emit from their cells when they’re unsettled. This natural phenomenon is definitely worth seeing during your holiday.
- Bonneville Salt Flats
Salt flats are spectacular places to visit. Formed when a lake dried up and left salt deposits, Bonneville Salt Flats is a place with a sensitive ecosystem, causing it to look completely void of any life. This means that being in this salt flat enables you to witness the beautiful clear blue sky. It is recommended to visit this place during summer so visitors can walk on the sand. However, visiting it during fall is also recommended because there will be water all over the place, causing it to create a reflection of the sky in the water. If you’re a fan of the anime Tokyo Ghoul, you should come to the Bonneville Salt Flats.
With all the otherworldly summer vacation destinations above, don’t forget to update your bucket list. Happy holidays and have a great summer!
